Team Description* Team ENSCO is a company sponsored and volunteer group of mostly ENSCO researchers and engineers. They are joined by several students from Thomas Jefferson High School of Science and Technology.

Team ENSCO competed in the first DARPA Grand Challenge and was one of only 15 teams from a field of over 100 applicants that progressed to the 2004 Challenge event. Team ENSCO Leader Gary Carr shares, “Last year was a significant learning experience for us. With limited times, we were able to construct and operate a competitive vehicle. This year, we have more time and more resources. We’re confident and eager to race.” The team is focused on developing a reliable and economical autonomous vehicle to the race.

ENSCO, Inc. a diversified research, development and information technology company, has contributed significant resources for this project, in support of the development of innovative technologies and to nurture and encourage the entrepreneurial spirit within its employee population.

Sponsors* National Instruments, MathWorks, Expert Choice, Inc., SICK, Vicor, Whelen Engineering, Optima Batteries, Lothringer Engineering and NovAtel
